Why do social media platforms crop the edges of my photo?
Most platforms have you upload a square image, then automatically crop it into a circle for display. If your subject is near the edge or a corner, that part gets cut off by the circle — which is how faces and important details end up cropped. IconFit AI automatically adjusts your composition with that circular crop in mind.
Do I need to upload a round image?
No. Nearly every platform expects a square upload and handles the circular conversion itself. IconFit AI exports a 1024×1024px square image too, not a circle — it just composes that square with the eventual circular crop already accounted for.
Is my image sent to a server?
No. Your uploaded image is processed entirely inside your browser and is never sent to or stored on IconFit AI's servers. See our privacy policy for details.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. From your phone's browser, you can drag and pinch to adjust position and zoom, and you can pick photos straight from your library.
Is it free?
The core features — uploading, automatic and manual adjustment, and PNG/JPEG downloads — are all free. We may add paid options for advanced features like generative background extension in the future, but nothing like that exists yet.
Will the quality be reduced?
IconFit AI exports at 1024×1024px, which is more than enough resolution for virtually every platform's profile picture. If your original photo itself is low resolution, the exported icon may look slightly blurry, and the tool will warn you when that's the case. JPEG exports let you adjust the quality level.
Does it work with group photos?
Yes. It detects multiple faces at once and automatically adjusts the composition to keep as many people as possible inside the safe circular area. If fitting everyone requires some margin, it automatically switches to a mode that shows the whole image.
